>From our first day on earth until our last, we face different levels of adversity. Adversity may be sickness, a property loss, or the loss of a family member. It may be a lost career promotion or a business setback. How we handle these adversities defines how we achieve greatness in our lives.
Let me share the story of James Blake, who overcame multiple adversities, more than most of us would ever experience in a lifetime and yet achieved greatness. James Blake is a world class professional tennis player enjoying fame and making a six-figure income. However, in his childhood, he developed a rare disease that required him to wear a body brace for years. Other kids teased him, calling him “Iron Man” from the Marvel Comic Books, and he felt left out. During this time, he concentrated on his academics, read a wide variety of books, and developed himself as a well-rounded person. He also developed a heightened awareness for others who are going through difficult times.
Once he had the brace removed, he learned to play tennis with an intense passion not exhibited by many other tennis players, because he appreciated the opportunity to finally play tennis. He didn’t take this opportunity for granted. He attended Harvard and became the #1 player on their tennis team.
As a promising professional player, adversity struck again. In 1994, while practicing for a major tournament, he slipped and fell forward striking his neck against the metal pole that holds the tennis net. James’s doctor said that had James not slightly turned his head, James would have broken his vertebra and become paralyzed from the neck down. Instead, he was hospitalized with a fractured vertebra, blurred vision, and dizziness.
While in the hospital, James did much soul searching. Many family members and friends came by to offer encouragement, advice, and support. His coach was a constant bedside companion and finally asked James, “Do you want to play tennis again?” James said “yes,” and they developed a plan to start his comeback.
With the support of family, friends, and his coach, James started his comeback step by painful step. At first when he tried to play tennis, he still had to overcome his blurred vision and dizziness. He had doubts whether he would ever handle the 125 mph plus serves of his opponents.
Then he suffered another setback. During his rehabilitation, his father, with whom he had a very close relationship, developed cancer and passed away. During his father’s sickness, James was by his side. After his father passed away, James was devastated. However, he regrouped and carried on with the support of his mother, family, friends, and coach.
He returned to playing professional tennis, and there were many more losses than wins. But he stayed focused and determined and progressively improved. He began playing the top professional players competitively, and he began winning against the top players. Then he once again started winning tournaments. After this long journey, James became one of the top players in the world.
What can we learn from James Blake’s journey through adversity to greatness? The following are three keys to making adversity work for you:
1. If it Doesn’t Kill You, It Makes you Stronger Many times we face adversities and say, “If only I can make it through this.” It may be a sickness, loss of a loved one, job loss, etc. By remaining focused, determined, and concentrating on the positive, many times you can become stronger.
Parents are now sheltering their children against any little adversity for fear it might be painful. I say allow your children to “grow up” and stop sheltering them from adversity. Teach them how to make adversity work for them. These adversities and the way they handle the adversities will define who they are and prepare them for challenges in the future. Some of our greatest business leaders, scientists, engineers, inventors, humanitarians, and sport heroes became the people they are because they overcame adversity.
2. Adversity Often Develops Unknown Talents Once the door of adversity closes one opportunity to you, the door of greatness often opens another. James Blake, first during his sicknesses and then after, developed his awareness of helping other unfortunate people. Now he runs free tennis programs for disadvantaged children. Before his sickness, James was not known for his concentration and focus on the tennis court. After his sickness, he developed and became known for his mental toughness. When experiencing adversity, ask yourself, “What positive thing can come out of this?”
3. Adversity Rallies Your Resources While James was sick, many resources arrived to help him. First, he had the time to step back to reflect on his life, goals, mission, and values. Second, he was able to obtain sound advice from family, friends, and others that he might not have been able to receive while traveling on the road. His setbacks allowed him to take time to summon resources (advice, help, etc.) he would not have realized if he had been traveling non-stop. He made his “downtime” work for him.
When adversity comes, don’t avoid it; attack adversity with all your resources. The way you manage adversity will define who you are and ready you for future opportunities, because adversity can be your seed of greatness.

Website Design just got easier. Using Firefox extensions you can load your browser with an array of tools that make website design a streamlined process. Found under the Tools menu, Extensions will make your web design much easier.
In todays competitive field of website design one needs to consider factors like validation, accessibility and cross browser display.
With Firefox browser extensions you can:
- Edit CSS in the browser
- Disable CSS
- Validate for Xhtml, CSS and 508
- Display Overlays over page that have block size info, ID and Class details, Access keys or Anchors
The list could continue on forever. One thing I like is the ability to add a style sheet to a page. If I am trying something new I can add a different style sheet and see how it looks without having to upload anything or change html in the head tag.
As a learning tool extensions will help you learn as you surf the web. Ever seen a cool layout and you just can’t figure out how they did that. Well now with firefox extensions you can easily take a look at the CSS file or view a color coded source all from in your browser.
When you want to check how your page looks in other pages Firefox extensions have that aspect of website design covered as well. You can easily check how your page would look in all the major browsers or if you have them installed then you can load the page in that browser with one click.
Firefox is by far the choice for all web designers. If you are not using firefox I would urge you to start. You can find the extensions page at https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/

Here’s a quick quiz:
1) When I see a see a sunrise, I’m moved to:
A. Compose a poem.
B. Try and capture the beauty with my paints and brush.
C. Stumble drunkenly into bed — boy that party was a lot of
fun.
D. Cover my face with my pillow and go back to sleep. Who
in their right mind gets up early enough to look at sunrises?
2) At work, I’m the person my coworkers go to when they
need someone to:
A. Think up a new theme for the office party (especially if they
want it to be a bit wild and off the wall).
B. Get people excited for the party.
C. Organize the party.
D. Clean up after the party.
3) In school, I was considered one of the:
A. Brains.
B. Jocks.
C. Nerds.
D. Nothing. I was kicked out my sophomore year.
Now take this test again and write down what you think a
creative person would choose as his or her answer.
Scoring: Well, there’s no real scoring here. The point is to
get you thinking about creativity and stereotypes.
In another creativity article I wrote, “Quiz: Are Your Creative?”,
I pointed out that the biggest difference between creative
people and those who aren’t is creative people believe
they’re creative and uncreative people believe they aren’t.
But, it’s one thing to say it and something completely
different to live it.
I believe one of the things that prevent people from fully
realizing their creative potential is the idea of stereotypes.
They think they cannot be creative because they don’t look,
act, live, etc., a certain way. And, unfortunately, that belief can
become so powerful it truly does cripple their creativity.
Let’s take a closer look at these three stereotypes.
1) When I see a sunrise…
You can still be a creative person and not be moved to paint
a sunrise or write a poem about it. Everyone is different and
everyone draws their creativity from different things. Me, you
couldn’t catch me anywhere near a sunrise without an IV
drip of coffee in my arm. And even if that did happen, I’d be
lucky if I could reach the creativity level of a turnip.
The point is every muse is different and every muse dances
to a different drum (or maybe it’s not even a drum, maybe it’s
a French horn.) Sunrises make you yawn? So what? Find
what gets your muse dancing and go with it.
2) At work…
You don’t have to act like a Bohemian to be creative. In fact,
that image of a black-clad, beret-wearing,
long-cigarette-smoking Artiste has been the bane of many
would-be artists. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve run
into who don’t have time to BE creative because they’re too
busy trying to LOOK creative.
Creativity comes in many shapes and sizes. It also dresses
in a variety of outfits — from t-shirts and paint-splatted jeans
to suits and ties to cocktail dresses to, yes, the all-black
look.
Don’t worry about how your creativity relates to how you look
or act. There’s no correlation between the two.
3) In school…
Again, there are no studies linking creativity to getting bad
grades or being a social misfit. Creativity is just as likely to
have been class president as it was to have been caught
smoking in the bathroom. Or kicked out of school altogether.
(Now, whether those schoolyard memories are fodder for
creative pursuits is a topic for another day.)
Basically it comes down to this — creativity doesn’t fit into any
neat box. Whether that box may be unconventional or
conservative. Whether it’s covered with clay and furiously
spinning pots or impeccably dressed and churning out
million-dollar deals. Whether it’s dressed in black and
discussing Satre in a coffee shop or pushing a stroller in
small-town America.
Creativity is just that. Creative. It doesn’t care what package
it comes in.
It only cares that you use it.
Creativity Exercise — Take Away The Power of Stereotypes
Go back to the quiz. Look at the answers you chose for
yourself. (If one of my answers didn’t fit — which is entirely
possible — turn your answer into fill-in-the-blank.) Look at
the answer you instinctively felt a creative person would
have selected. I’m going after instinct here — don’t worry
about what you read in the article. Or go back and see how
you answered before you read the article.
Do you have two different answers? Describe what makes
the answers different and why.
Do you describe yourself in completely opposite terms as
you would someone creative? Why is that? Do some
journaling on the answer.
Now try describing yourself again and this time add the
statement “and that makes me creative” or “yet I still am
creative” at the end. For instance: “I hate sunrises and that
makes me creative. I was a model student yet still I am
creative.” Write these out ten times each day until you begin
to believe it.

In sales, you can train your customers by building a relationship that will ultimately yield tremendous rewards. If you don’t train them, your customers may forget you’re out there and go instead to your competition, even if they were happy with you and the service you provided. They simply won’t even think of talking to you about their current needs. That’s why you need to develop a level of familiarity and presence that makes you unforgettable, even indispensable.
Generate more sales by using this plan to train your customers to always think of you first.
First, Build a Relationship
Animal trainers spend two to three hours a day building the relationship with the animal they’re training. This time is essential to building trust. Trainers make contact of some sort that the animal especially loves, from playing fetch with a dog to rubbing the belly of an affection-loving monkey. They determine as the relationship grows how best to give each animal the attention he or she needs.
Though it’s probably best if you don’t rub your customers’ bellies every day, you can rather easily make yourself a more valuable resource to all of your customers by determining what will give added value to each. Find a way to build your relationship with each of them, such as regularly passing along information via e-mail, even on a daily basis, that will benefit the customer. Relationship-building activities keep you in the forefront of customers’ minds, and while these activities won’t necessarily be immediately income-producing, they will have a positive impact down the road when the customer thinks of you and the value you added to routine service.
Second, Impress with Consistency
Animals, like children and many adults, need routine to feel secure and trusting. Trainers behave predictably so as not to frighten, confuse, or upset the animal. From a sales standpoint, you need to be consistent with your customers, so they know what to expect from you and how much they can depend on you. For example, you should always return their calls within an hour or two of their leaving a message, not sometimes call back an hour later and sometimes call back three days later.
If you have this professional approach, and you consistently deliver what your customers want without being asked, you’ll be the first one they think of because you have made yourself indispensable. In other words, they’ll use you consistently if you behave consistently and consistently produce good results for them, even if they’re not officially your customer.
Third, Recognize and Meet Individual Needs
Part of building a relationship with an animal involves knowing what its needs are. For example, one primate may love vegetables and despise fruit, while another won’t touch his veggies but can’t get enough bananas and apples. Customers also have needs, and they do business with you because you can meet, anticipate, and predictably fulfill those needs. The human equivalents of those picky primates might be those customers who insist on being able to place their orders on-line, while others want nothing to do with computers and need to be able to pick up the phone, day or night, to order what they want.
To meet your customers’ needs, you must take the time to get to know each individual. Your familiarity with them will help you discern what their particular needs are, thus allowing you to better meet them.
Don’t limit the lengths to which you’re willing to go to accommodate your customers. If it’s not illegal, immoral, or unethical, do it. If anyone in your organization complains that you’re favoring a client for whom you’re going a bit out of your way, explain that you’re not giving preferential treatment so much as you’re meeting one particular customer’s different needs, and that you’re committed to meeting all needs equally.
Fourth, Learn From Your Lions
Lions are solitary and territorial animals. They don’t want to be around each other, so getting two to lie down side by side in a circus act, for example, can be a huge feat. Trainers have to learn which ones are more likely to remain friendly to another tiger by learning their individual preferences.
As you learn your customers’ needs, learn as much as you can about the intricacies of their business, the individuals on their staff, and their roles and relationships within the organization. Especially if you’re selling to different industries, be willing to go into their businesses and learn the idiosyncrasies of the industrial manufacturer, the habits of the healthcare facility, and the quirks of the cleaning supply company. Pick up every detail you possibly can that will help you build that relationship and show you how to better serve those customers. The payoff is that you begin to look like one of them, and they perceive you as being a part of their internal team, which is what you really want, as opposed to being perceived as a salesperson who just comes in to make a sale.
Fifth, Become a Resource
When trainers have developed a relationship with the animals they train, the animals become completely dependent on them for everything; the trainer is the animal’s sole resource for most primary and secondary needs, such as food, shelter, and even companionship.
To train your customers to think of you first, every time, you must seek to become a full-service resource, as hands-on as you can manage to be. At that point, you’ll achieve the coveted top of the mind status that will bring them to you again and again. If you can demonstrate that you are able to meet all of their needs, you’ll be the first person they think of when they have a new need that you can either meet or give them a referral to someone who can.
If you’re in real estate sales, for example, don’t limit your client contact to just selling them property. Extend yourself to meet all of their real estate needs by sending someone from your office to make a presentation to the planning commission, or to track down permits. A simple rule of thumb is to always go above and beyond what your competition is doing to provide services for the customer. Do more and you’ll find you’ll obtain coveted word-of-mouth advertising, the very best kind, as your happy clients send their friends and colleagues directly to you.
Sixth, Build Your Menagerie With Your Competition’s Clients, Too!
If you train your customers to think of you first, they won’t give a thought to your competitors. Now consider how you could use this training strategy to steal business away from your competition. If the competition isn’t giving this personal level of service, if they’re just filling orders and aren’t familiar with their customers and their needs, they are vulnerable. Use your excellent animal training skills to go in there and make the competitors’ business your own. When you do, you may find yourself turning even tough old lions into happy pussycats!

I came across a new website the other day and was quite pleasantly surprised.
Basically this is another really great way to get targeted keywords for your website. And the best part is it is free to use. You can check it out by going to http://www.nichebot.com
You simply enter in your keyword (I noticed you can’t use more than 2 words) and it will give you a list similar to what you would see in Wordtracker. You can choose to have your keywords shown through a Wordtracker database, Overture database, thesauras, lateral or with a keyword analysis.
It is pretty extensive and I highly recommend that you check it out.
It gives you five statistics for the keyword you type in.
1.) Phrase – Exact keyword phrase people are using to search the search engines.
2.) Count – Number of times search phrase was used in the past 60-days.
3.) Pages – Number of pages listed in Google with any or all of the keyword phrase.
4.) Competition – Number of pages listed in Google with the exact keyword phrase.
5.) Ratio – Number of sites for every 1 search; the closer to zero, the less competition.
Wanna know your Google ranking without having to buy expensive software? Nichebot also has a way that you can check you ranking.
At the bottom of their homepage you will see a link that says ‘Google Ranking’ click on the link and you will be able to enter your keywords and website url to check your ranking.
I think this website is going to get big really quick. Hopefully it will continue to stay free to use.
Go check it out and see for yourself: www.nichebot.com

Fresh website content for your visitors can be of real benefit when attempting to generate repeat traffic. Most webmasters, however, just don’t have enough spare time to frequently update or rebuild their pages manually. If your web site hosting company provides free access to PHP and MySQL, this article will show you how to combine those two open source tools and replace a portion of your websites’ static content with frequently changing dynamic content.
Why do you need dynamic content for your website?
Static pages on a website eventually become “stale” and visitor traffic can fall significantly over time. The drop in traffic can be attributed to these primary factors:
1) The reluctance of search engines to include and display your potentially “out of date” pages in their search results,
2) The finite number of other subject related websites that would be willing to link to your information on a specific topic, and
3) Visitors that learn to view your static website with a “been there, done that” attitude.
Creating and maintaining a web site requires a significant investment in time and resources. Loosing repeat visitors diminishes the value of your investment. Without repeat traffic it is virtually impossible for a website to be a continuing success.
How can you add dynamic content without having to purchase expensive software?
One proven (and easy to implement) method of creating dynamic content for your website is by rotating information on key, higher traffic web pages using PHP with a MySQL database. Rotating content can take the form of a series of rotating articles, a rotating group of product listings, or even a simple “thought for the day”. What is important is that your clients and visiting search engines find new and interesting information each time they visit your website.
As an example of dynamic content creation, we will build a system that rotates information about a group of products on the main page of a hypothetical retail sales web site that markets widgets. Our goal is to present information about a different type or model of widget available for purchase whenever a consumer visits the shopping web site.
Step One: Create a content table to hold your widget data.
There are a couple of options for storing the data to be displayed in your dynamic content rotation. The first option would be to create a new database, or perhaps simply add a table in an existing product database that will hold the information that you wish to display.
Let’s take five theoretical widget products and design a table as follows:
+——+———————–+
| item | product |
+——+———————–+
| 1 | Plastic Widgets |
| 2 | Metal Widgets |
| 3 | Wooden Widgets |
| 4 | Rubber Widgets |
| 5 | Stone Widgets |
+——+———————–+
1-a) Create your table with the following SQL statement:
CREATE TABLE `content_table` (
`item` int(4) NOT NULL auto_increment,
`product` varchar(10) NOT NULL default ”,
KEY `item` (`item`)
) TYPE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=6 ;
This table contains two fields. The first is an item number and the second is a description field that will hold the product name and features. Note: You can add fields to your actual table including: an image URL field, shopping cart direct purchase URL field, product page field, etc.
1-b) Insert the example data into your new table as follows:
INSERT INTO `content_table ` VALUES (1, ‘ Plastic Widgets’);
INSERT INTO `content_table ` VALUES (2, ‘ Metal Widgets’);
INSERT INTO `content_table ` VALUES (3, ‘ Wooden Widgets’);
INSERT INTO `content_table ` VALUES (4, ‘ Rubber Widgets’);
INSERT INTO `content_table ` VALUES (5, ‘ Stone Widgets’);
Once you have completed these two steps you will have a table compete with data to be shown on your website.
Another option would be to utilize your existing product table. If there are hundreds of different models and styles of widgets already in one of the tables in your database, you could utilize the same structure we are learning now to connect directly to that table and display the already existing data.
Step two: Working with your new table:
For dynamic content displays to function there must be a mechanism in place that instructs your web page as to which item should be shown to the visitor. These mechanisms vary in complexity from extremely simple commands to the more complicated use of cookies or IP tracking to determine which item should be displayed.
For this tutorial, we will utilize one of the most effective mechanisms and perhaps the easiest to incorporate. This is the use of a random number generator for deciding which item will be shown.
To create a random number generator using PHP you must first calculate the total number of possible items that you want the system to choose from. In this example we had five items so the maximum number of choices will be 5. The reason we need this number is to limit the random numbers being delivered. If we have five items, we want the number generator to only give us a result of between 1 and 5.
We must now create a variable for our PHP code that will hold our new randomly generated item number as follows:
$mynumber = rand(1, 5);
This little snippet of code will act as the mechanism to “select” a widget product item at random from the five provided in the content table that we created.
If we created 100 different items for your dynamic display instead of just five, you would simply change the “rand (1, 5)” part of the code to reflect the different maximum number. In this case we would change it to “rand (1, 100)” so that the random number generator gives us back a number somewhere between one and one hundred.
We are now ready to extract the randomly selected item’s information from your table so that it can be displayed on your webpage.
You can now connect to your database and query your table to find the data for the item that matches the random number you created, as follows:
$query_content = “SELECT * FROM content_table WHERE item = $mynumber “;
Step three: Displaying your data:
When displaying your data it is important to maintain consistency in presentation size. It is preferable to create a table of specified dimensions (such as “width=400″) and display your results within this table. In this way the page proportions do not have to change with each new item (which can be very confusing for visitors).
Simply display the results just as if these where any other MySQL query using the echo command:
echo $query_content [' product '];
Every time your page is loaded a different widget product will be selected at random for display on that page.
What else can you do with your dynamic content?
The only limits are within your imagination. By adding a title and meta description tags to your content table, you can alternate the title and search engine description for that page. You can also utilize this system to promote affiliate programs or sponsorship opportunities by rotating affiliate links and banners.
The proper use of dynamic content can bring your website back into favor with search engines and encourage your visitors to return frequently to see what is new.

With brand new technological innovations for instance digital TV, Hi Definition TV, Freesat and home cinema systems, if you’re existing television set is older than five years old, then this moment is a wonderful time to buy a new telly. Though, as technology is improved nearly day by day, acquiring a brand new telly machine can easily be exceedingly complicated and confusing.
This TV guide seeks to describe all the new technological advancements that will promise to take your television enjoyment to an unbelievable new level.
High-Def Television: Maybe the most key improvement to the world of the television since the advancement of colour technology, Hi-Def (HD) TV presents detail, clarity & colour, with images normally four times as crisp as several conventional television sets. To view High Def telly you are required to possess a Hi Def Ready telly. Sky & Freesat have already started to broadcast hi-definition television series therefore you can now take pleasure in an assortment of your beloved programmes, movies & sporting occasions with wonderful realistic pictures. John Lewis sells Cheap TVs from top brands such as Sony and Panasonic.
Built-In Digital Tuner: A TV with built-in digital tuner (more commonly known as idTV) lets you get hold of all free to air digital channels, including: E4, BBC3, Sky News & numerous more without the demand for another set top box.
Freesat: A new digital satellite telly service available through a partnership between the BBC and ITV, giving you free High Def TV programmes at no extra price. Freesat has no weekly contract, no membership fee, but instead just one single price for the TV, satellite dish & installation. Plus because Freesat is transmitted via satellite, it is obtainable to more or less every household in the United Kingdom. Freesat TV is at this time only obtainable through Panasonic TVs.
LCD or Plasma Televisions: Although LCD and Plasma tellies operate in completely different ways, the benefits of both are particularly alike. Nevertheless, it’s important to bear in mind that when selecting between a Plasma or LCD TV, it’s really only a question of size. LCD is at its greatest performance up to & including thirty-two inches, whilst Plasma televisions deliver best performance at 37 inches & higher. Thus, if you are wishing to purchase a smaller flat panel television set, then (short for Liquid Crystal Display) offers the far superior performance, in contrast if you are searching for a larger screen size, Plasma is the greatest option.
In conclusion, it is very important to keep in mind when choosing the most suitable telly for you, to think about your available funds, your screening distance, the look you fancy and if it’s to be an LCD or Plasma TV.

At present loads of people prefer purchasing their swimwear on the Web; purchasing online is a very simple and fitting way to shop in the warmth of your own house.
It’s important to guarantee while getting swimwear on the World Wide Web that it fits you perfectly. When you get swimwear on the Internet always double check that the shop provides a decent quality sizing diagram that highlights all of the sizes you require. With the help of a sizing chart one can make sure to obtain a swimsuit or bikini that fits correctly, thus reducing the demand to switch for a different size. By and large most of the swimwear retail shops don’t allow an exchange of goods with this in mind it is always better to opt for an online store where exchanges are permitted. Many shops will allow the returns of swimwear if the tags & the original packaging are also returned along with it.
Swimwear is a usual factor of the summertime; yet a substantial majority of full-figured females feel frightened at the prospect of shopping for swimsuits & bikinis that fit properly. These women even ponder over wearing caftans by the swimming pool or at the beach instead of looking unattractive. Designers and shopkeepers have indentified the fashion issues of the larger woman, and are beginning to feature a wide variety of stylish bathing suit designs in XL sizes, and the best place to uncover such swimwear is to procure swimwear online. Find eye-catching and sexy silk knickers at great prices from designers such as Simone Perele, State of Undress, Kalita, Sielei, Mimi Holliday and Sista Shei.

Have you encountered a time when you were in a traffic jam and
was running late for an important meeting? Did you stay calm
and focused? Or did your mind wander into the dark side of
the impending consequences that may occur?
If you’re always picturing people getting mad at you and
thinking of negative outcomes, then your body suffers as well.
You may experience chest pains, anxiety disorders, indigestion,
and other health problems. Why worry when you can’t do anything
about the situation? Moreover, you don’t even know yet what
will happen. Both good and bad things happen unexpectedly.
Why bother to worry? It’s just not worth it.
Your mind directly influences your body’s capabilities and
reactions; so if you always project negative thoughts and
images in your mind, your body suffers as well. But if you
always think of positive and enthusiastic stuffs, your body
will react positively too.
The mind is an absolute powerhouse, a dream granter, and
goal achiever, all rolled into one. But do you know how to
optimize it for best performance?
Many times we’ve heard people say that “If you think you can
or you can’t, you’re right.”
That is so true. But do you know exactly how to use your
thoughts in reaching what you desire to achieve?
They say affirmations work. Yes, they do. But the results
might be minimal and might not turn out according to your
expectations.
Do you want to know a method that is much more powerful? What
I’m going to tell you is a technique that is so effective in
itself; that if you combine it with affirmations, then you
possess one of the deadliest combos of self-improvement.
Want to know the secret? Here it is.
Visualize images. It’s as simple as that. Our mind
communicates with our body using images. You know that the
thought of people getting angry with you can negatively
affect your health. Otherwise, picturing yourself relaxing
at your favorite vacation spot can ease some of your stress.
Take this exercise.
Imagine the juiciest whole piece of fried chicken right in
front of you. You can smell its tempting aroma. You sliced
it into pieces and heard the crispy crunching sound. Picture
yourself taking a large bite and enjoying the gastronomic
experience. Did that made your mouth water? Did that made
you hungry?
Images are very powerful and can be used to improve your
health, attain your goals, and achieve anything that you
put your mind into.
For instance, you’re a burn victim. You have a wound that
is quite agonizing. Don’t just say, “Hey, burn wound. Get
out of my skin.” Picture it in your mind getting smaller and
smaller. Visualize it melting and vanishing into thin air.
You may imagine the wound itself healing miraculously, or you
may designate any object of your choice to represent that
wound. For example, you visualize a black stone as a symbol
of your illness. Imagine that object shrinking and
disintegrating slowly. As you’re thinking of this, feel
your wound and all negative forces simultaneously going
along with the action of the black stone. Let them become
smaller and smaller until they have ceased to exist.
So which technique is better – imagining the real thing or
assigning a representational object to it? It all depends
on you. Pick and apply the method that you are more
comfortable with, the one that you are more inclined to
think and visualize upon.
But it’s not as easy as you think. Practice makes perfect.
One way you can optimize the power of imagination is by
becoming more observant and meticulous. If you’re going
to use a certain flower in your visualization, go to the
park and become a keen observer of that flower. Touch it.
Smell it. Feel its texture. The more senses involved, the
more powerful your visualization will become.
Visualization can be a very powerful tool in getting what
you want in life. Practice and apply it often. You’ll be
amazed at the results.

Stress is undeniably a part of human life. Several studies have shown that the inability to manage life stresses, either at work or at home, contributes to progressive aging. People who worry too much or those who are unable to cope with stress, will most likely look older for their age and will often be susceptible to physical illnesses. So if you want to maintain your health and keep aging at bay, then find ways to reduce stress in every aspect of your life.
Some tips to prevent or reduce stress:
Plan your day ahead by creating a things-to-do list. This way you will be able to check the tasks that have already been done and those that still need to be done.
Don’t get too preoccupied or anxious. When in a stressful situation, breathe deeply and relax. Even when everything seems to bring you down, learn to laugh or even smile.
Find time for meditation to allow your mind to de-stress.
Get sufficient sleep, eat right, and exercise on a regular basis.
Reward yourself after a long day like enjoying a bubble bath or taking time to catch up on your reading.
Give yourself vacations like going to the beach, or any environment where you can take a breather.
Follow a skincare regimen that’s fit for your age. No matter how stressful the situation may get, your skin is protected at all times.
